The Good: Simple yet so addictive, nice visuals, great sense of speed
The Bad: People who hate simplicity should stay away
Some times simple is just better and Boost 3D really demonstrates this. You control a first person POV camera that is speeding through a white tunnel. The “lanes” you are on will change color when an obstacle is coming up. Just tilt the touch device to ride on a white lane. Some times you will see boost arrows so hit these to go faster or break through one obstacle.
The tunnel changes by taking walls off and even having you ride outside the tunnel walls. The game gets harder and harder and your goal is to get as far as possible without crashing. The tilt controls work well enough and that’s all you need. The game looks pretty good for what it does and the sense of speed is amazing. What makes Boost 3D so great is how addictive it gets when trying to best your score.
For two bucks you get a lot of fun out of this infinite game and it’s even great to have friends try it. Boost 3D shows us that you don’t need complex controls, story, or even amazing graphics to make a game addictive and fun.
