Physics games are very common on the App Store, but Ragdoll Blaster 2 really sticks out due to its unique delivery and varied game play. The game is very simple with just the idea of shooting a ragdoll out of a cannon to hit red targets, but it’s how you get to these that really makes you think. Unlike most physics games where the game requires you to manipulate or control the object, or just using plain luck, RB2 makes you use hand eye coordination to determine the aiming distance and power of your shot (similar to Angry Birds). Some times you are required to hit switching, some times you have to shoot the cannon to gain momentum if your cannon is on wheels etc.
While each puzzle is unique and different you can’t really get bored with the game. Even coming back to try and use as few ragdolls as possible can be a lot of fun. Some puzzles are really hard and just seem to work against you. This is probably due to the lack of testing, but you can always beat it. The game has a unique wooden visual style, and the sounds of gears and cogs ticking is a nice ambiance and it gives it a steam punk type of aesthetic. So, if you love physics games, but are tired of the shoddy ones then RB2 is something you’ll fancy.
