Welcome to the brand new Skyrim modding sanctuary! As some returning people may notice the old Skyrim modding pages are now gone. These mods are either mostly abandoned, not updated, or gone all together. The Skyrim modding community has changed a lot since three years ago when I posted those mods. Instead of doing a beginning to end modding feature I will be doing a continuous one in this category to keep people up to date. I will usually feature sections of a mod such as female customization mods or landscape textures for example. This first section will be about customizing the females in the game to start. There is random selection to avoid trying to turn this into an actual modding tutorial.
As a side note, I will provide support for modding Skyrim since I feel I have finally mastered it after 4 years of modding the game since launch day. I will also post various videos of my own modded Skyrim gameplay to share with everyone.
Apachii SkyHair was one of the first major hair mods and is still widely used to this day. It contains hundreds of new hairs to make your female character look entirely unique. The hair models are gorgeous and feature great detail and screenarchers won’t be disappointed. Skyrim had awful hair types and they were very limited. Install Apachii SkyHair for your character and you won’t be disappointed.
Better Makeup for SKSE
The default makeup resolution in Skyrim is an abysmal 512×512 and looks pixelated on modded characters. deithardt remedied this by using SKSE to give us 2048×2048 textures which look fantastic. If you want war paint or makeup on your character this is a must have.
KS Hairdos – Renewal
The older mod didn’t look good with ENB and the textures weren’t as high res as current mods so Kalilies took the time to redo them for us. These are just as huge and creative as Apachii SkyHair being the only two hair mods you need in my opinion. I don’t use any other hair mods besides these two together as there are over 300 with just the two combined; there are endless possibilities.
Lovely Hairstyles is another great mod for people who love the vanilla feel of the hairs. While not as expansive as KS or Apachii, Lovely Hairstyles has a lot of detail and great love put into the mod and is one of the best out there; a definite must have.
Seductive HD Lips are a must have for anyone who puts dozens of hours into customizing their character like I do. This is also a must have for screenarchers as it enhances the look of your female character and makes them look irresistible. Remember, if you use a custom race you must copy the correct texture file into the custom race tintmask folder.
The Eyes of Beauty is pretty much the one and only go to eye replace for players and NPCs. The only downside to this mod is that custom races are not supported so they won’t show up correctly on them unless that custom race mod releases a patch. There are hundreds of beautiful eyes that range from realistic to high fantasy. This mod has been around forever and is wildly popular and used in almost every modders arsenal. Screenarchers, this is a must have for you guys.
KJ Tattoos – Overlay Plugin for Racemenu
KJ Tattoos are a must have in your warpaint arsenal. I honestly believe that tattoos and warpaint are what make a character memorable and not just unique. These tattoos are lore friendly, high res, and beautiful for every part of the body.
Maevan2’s Eye Brows
Eyebrows can’t be ignored when customizing a character, plain and simple. Screenarchers can testify to this. Maevan2 has created some gorgeous natural looking eyebrows that steer away from Skyrim’s vanilla caveman looking ones. Each individual hair can be seen and they blend beautiful on the skin without looking awkward or fake.
Norse themed anything usually means lore friendly as Skyrim is based off of this theme. This tattoo pack is perfect to show off your Dohvakiin and just how experienced they might be. Tattoos tell stories so what’s your story? The design are high res, detailed, and beautiful. A must have for anyone who likes warpaint or tattoos on their character.
Rutah Tattoo Pack for Racemenu
Rutah is one of the best to go to for tattoos and all his packs are great. This large pack isn’t exactly lore friendly, but they are beautiful and I won’t detest to having any of these on my character. From guns, skulls and roses, angel wings, and biker tattoos, these are all unique and someone out there will like them.
SevenBase Custom Female Body
SevenBase body is my absolute favorite. I jumped from CBBE to UNP and now SevenBase as a bodyslide preset. This is great for anyone who likes the look of more fake breasts or a supermodel type looking body. It’s sexy, gorgeous, and the textures are beautiful. There are now plenty of armors that support this body which is one reason why I didn’t jump on board. SevenBase (or 7B) has picked up popularity and is now just as popular as CBEE or UNP which is a great feat for the mod author. It’s up to armor and body texture modder to support a body type as this decides if they sink or swim. Body types for females are some of the biggest competition with Bethesda game and this will always be my favorite. I currently use SevenBase Oppai which isn’t in this exact mod, but BodySlide Studio does have this preset. For anyone who loves thicker woman but with slightly more natural looking breasts.
A direct quote from the humble Wast1980
But all credits to Sevennity, Demonhunter and Crosscrusade (Sevennity did the original body (no weight slider), and took it down from Nexus; Demonhunter made a working TBBP version which I used to convince other modders; Crosscrusade came along, “added” a working weight slider and created a BBP version of the original version and a natural version). I just did the promotional part and released the bodies on Nexus.
Tattoo Model Suicide Girl for Racemenu
These aren’t lore friendly at all, but full size body tattoos aren’t very common in Skyrim. These tattoos are beautifully done and have gorgeous detail that no other mod has. Full and half sleeve tattoos, full back, and even Yakuza tattoos that cover the entire body. This is a one of a kind tattoo mod and any warpaint or tattoo fan should have.
XCE – Warpaint and Dirt
XCE Warpaint is beautiful, lore friendly, and a must have over the Vanilla warpaint. There is warpaint that fits every race and every play style. Screenarchers and finicky customizers should download this right now.
Now a video showing off my current setup of Skyrim! Just a test video and features a few things posted above.
